Stacy Wrightsman is no stranger to caring for people. She spent over 20 years of her career in the healthcare industry. Now, as the first Chief Culture Officer at Maguire, she cares for people in a new way.
“At my core, I am a people person,” Maguire’s Chief Culture Officer Stacy Wrightsman said. “I love to learn about people, their dreams and aspirations. This new role at Maguire is a perfect fit for me. I’m proud of the work Maguire has done, even before I got here, to really emphasize the importance of people and how they can flourish both personally and professionally.”
The need for this new role at Maguire was identified when examining the organization’s vision, mission, and values during the company’s recent strategic planning process.
“Our core values are the guiding principles at Maguire,” Maguire CEO Gene Jones, Jr. said. “They guide how we treat our team members and how we help our customers store and protect quality water.”
Maguire’s core values are:
- Strive for Excellence: We constantly seek to be better than we were yesterday. We collaborate about ideas and solutions to help our customers while achieving our goals.
- Commit to Safety: We are uncompromising in the health and safety of our employees, subcontractors, customers, and communities we work in. Safety is the responsibility of everyone.
- Build on Integrity: We are honest, open, ethical, and fair. We transparently communicate about our choices.
- Serve with Passion: We believe in using our God-given talents to benefit others. We make a positive impact in the lives of our co-workers, customers, and communities we serve.
- Grow the Family: We provide a culture where everyone is allowed to flourish personally and professionally.
Maguire set these core values as the foundation of the new chief culture officer position and began to reimagine what it meant to help team members throughout their career journey grow and develop both personally and professionally.
“Providing a culture where everyone can flourish is our number one priority,” Jones, Jr. said. “We used our strategic planning process to make our people the focus in everything we do.”
For Maguire, this meant combining company culture, human resources, and training and development into a new Quality-of-Life department whose focus is on all aspects of the employee experience.
“I’m very proud of Maguire’s leadership team,” Wrightsman said. “They were forward-thinking to recognize that our Maguire team members’ flourishing is not simply a byproduct of pay, benefits, and their working schedule, but it’s about finding deep meaning and purpose in their work.”
Once the strategic plan for the Quality-of-Life Department was designed, the search began to find the right individual to champion this initiative to provide a truly exceptional employment experience.
“Stacy has done an amazing job in her brief time at Maguire,” Jones Jr. said. “The work of integrating culture, human resources, and training and development is a transformational experience for our team members. I am excited for our team members and the high-quality employment experience they will have as a member of our team.”
One of the ways Maguire is enhancing the experience for team members and setting itself apart is with the new campus in Sioux Falls that will be opening soon.
One of the main quality-of-life initiatives for the new campus is Fitwel. Maguire will be the first company in South Dakota to achieve a Fitwel certification. This certification is designed to enhance and support the well-being of its occupants and support healthy communities. To find out more about Maguire’s Fitwel initiative, click here.
“This new state-of-the-art campus is an amazing opportunity for us to provide a first-class experience for our team members,” Wrightsman said. “It is an honor to be part of the Maguire family!
