Southern Iowa Rural Water Association (SIRWA), recently partnered with Maguire to complete the engineering, design, fabrication, and construction of a 1,000,000-gallon toro-ellipsoidal water tower. We sat down with the General Manager for Systems, Jeff Rice, to learn why SIRWA chose Maguire for their water tank construction and maintenance.
“We cover from the Missouri River to Interstate 80, seven full counties, and parts of seven other ones,” General Manager of Systems Jeff Rice said. “We have 11,600 customers. We take water from here in Creston, IA, and distribute it up to an hour and a half away.”
“I think we’ve been with Maguire for tower maintenance for around 10 years now,” Rice said. “It’s been phenomenal the service we’ve received and how much better our towers look. We didn’t do anything before but now we’re going through it. Everybody comments on our towers and how nice they look.”
“We built a brand-new water treatment plant so we had to have elevated storage that could feed out to our other pump stations and our other towers which we have forty-one of now,” Rice said. “You know if you don’t have elevated storage, you don’t have pressure and we have a lot of dollars invested in these towers. You have to maintain them.”
“The new water tower, they think it looks beautiful,” Rice said. “We used the new HydroFlon paint on it and yeah, everybody just raves about it. It’s almost too shinny. If you’re driving down the road sometimes you can’t read SIRWA because it just depends on where the sun’s at.”
“When the guys are working on the towers; doing washouts or painting, Tyson and Nate, or someone is reaching out to us once a week to make sure everything is going good,” Rice said. “We couldn’t ask for better service from them. It feels like a family atmosphere, I mean, the way Maguire works with their customer or works with us anyway.”
“We don’t have to worry about it. They just take care of it, 100%,” said Rice. “The scheduling and stuff, you know, they contact us. If we have something else going on in our system, we will shuffle tank painting, maintenance, or whatever around. It just works great! I highly recommend Maguire for construction or maintenance. We just absolutely love them.”
