A day in the life of a field construction team member
Imagine waking up in a new town, stepping outside, and seeing a massive steel structure rising against the skyline. That’s the reality for Maguire’s field construction team members. They travel across the country, erecting water storage tanks that will serve communities with clean potable drinking water for generations.
Taylor Golden, a construction foreman with over a decade of experience in the field at Maguire, shares his experience:
“Working in the field construction division is awesome,” Golden said. “It’s exciting to travel, work outdoors, see different sites, meet people and build something that lasts.”
Each project is unique, offering new challenges and opportunities to learn. From the initial design phase to the final inspection, Maguire team members are involved in every step, ensuring quality and safety are upheld.
Building more than just tanks

“I love the satisfaction that you get, especially in these smaller towns,” Golden said. “Constructing a piece of infrastructure for a community that will last over 100 years is something I take pride in.”
Maguire’s projects range from small rural towns to metropolitan areas, each presenting its own set of challenges and rewards. The work is demanding but fulfilling, and the results are tangible.
“I like the ability to come out every day and be outside and work hard,” Golden said. “When the tank is finished, it changes the skyline for the community and gives them a new landmark. Not many jobs can say that.”
